If James Tillet Porter, the husband of Margaret Vincent, was not born in 1791, and was indeed the grandson of Elisha Porter, born in 1773 or 1775, and a double first cousin of James Tillet Porter who was born in 1842, might both James Tillet Porters have been named after their common ancestor, James Tillet? Might James Tillet have been the father of the mother of both Bevil brides? If Stark was the last name of Elisha Porter's wife, might James Tillet have been her maternal grandfather? If Stark was the first name of Elisha Porter's wife, might her father have been James Tillet?

According to information from both Susan Porter and Dew, Jedithan Porter ( 1755 -1804 ) and Rhoda Palmer were the parents of Elisha Porter ( born in 1773 or 1775 - died in 1840 ), who was the grandfather of James Tillet Porter who was born in 1842.

HDP claims to have a 1843 deed by which Jedithan and Tillet Porter conveyed some land to a Mr. Farr, and states that, based on birth dates, Jedithan may be Tillet's dad or brother.

Did James Tillet Porter ( 1791 - 1893 ) and Jedithan's son Jedithan ( 1783 - 1870 ) own the above land in 1843? According to information from both Dew and Susan Porter, Jedithan Porter had a son named Jedithan Porter.

Was the James Tillet Porter who is named in the above deed the cousin or uncle of the James Tillet Porter who was born in 1842 (could a one year old deed land in 1843)?

If their other children were Landlot Porter ( 1748/49 - 1833 ) and Hancock Porter ( 1753 - ? ), would they have been too old to have been the parents of the James Tillet Porter who was born in 1791?

A 71 year old man can father a child, but how likely is it that a woman bore children 42 years apart? Did Edward Sanders Porter have a second (Cherokee?) wife or slave, etc. who was the mother of Tillet Porter?

In 1791, when Jedithan Porter was about 36, did he father a son named James Tillet Porter by a Cherokee wife or mistress?
